Welcome to the Association of Insurance Accredited Automobile Repairers in Tanzania - AIAART (also known as Chama cha Warekebishaji Magari yenye Bima Tanzania - CHAWAMABITA. We have been established in October 2023; The aim is to be at the forefront of championing the interests of auto repair professionals across the nation and protecting the rights of insured and third party who are the customers to automobile repairers and maintainers. Our association is dedicated to fostering growth, professionalism, and business success in the auto repair industry in relation to insurance sector.

AIAART is the leading voice of the auto repair industry, representing over 100 members, comprising of small independent workshops, mid-size businesses, and large franchises that are dealing with auto repair of insured vehicles. Our diverse membership reflects the vibrancy of the auto repair industry.

Issuance of the Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA) guidelines on accreditation of automobile repairers and maintainers servicing insurance sector gave motivation to the formation of the association. On the guideline, auto repairers came out as key partners to TIRA in achieving their main goals of protecting insured and third party. On repairer point of view insured and third party are the customers hence as auto repairers, we have fiduciary duties to make sure that we support the intention of TIRA on the issuance of the guidelines.

When looking on the underlying issues in the issuance of the guidelines; all raised matters affect the auto repair industry especially to auto repairers that are carrying out the repairs (accidented/ collision repair) on the vehicle with the insurance covers. Apart from supporting TIRA on the implementation of the guidelines, we will also have direct impact on protecting interest of auto repairers in Tanzania.

Our association will not only protect the interests of the members but also look after the responsibilities of the auto repairers. The intention is to self-regulate our sub sector within the insurance sector so as to protect and support the main goals of the insurance sector – insured and third party to have trust in insurance sector. On that note the association constitution and bylaws are based on self-regulatory approach.
